Well yet again it’s been a while since my last post.
So I’ll start off with an update on my last post about my application to the O.P.P.
I went to the Western Region HQ and did the written testing. Good news first, I passed the Written Compressive Test (WCT). Bad news now, I didn’t quite make the Police Analytical Thinking Inventory (PATI). I messed up on the math section I need to remember that 1 + 1= 4 and next time around I should be good.
Even thought I didn’t make the PATI I still chose to do the physical testing (PREP) even though it wasn’t required since the waiting time to retest for the PATI is the same amount of time the PREP is good for, meaning the PREP will expire the same day I can rewrite the PATI.
The PREP was of course a breeze because I’ve done it so many times before for fitness class. So come six months I will be reapplying for testing and hopefully make it this time.
Now onto current events, OPSEU STRIKE!!!
Yes that’s right my schooling has been put on hold until further notice. Classes are cancelled and nothing is happening academic wise. This presents quite the feat for us residence staff. We now have 500+ students to “baby sit”. Hopefully one of two things happen VERY soon, either the students go home or more preferably the strike ends and we can all go back to normal school days.
Onto happier thoughts SPRING BREAK @ PANAMA CITY BEACH was AWESOME!
What a trip, I must admit the 30 hour bus ride there and home was killer it was well worth the drive!
Pictures are worth a million words so check out my photo gallery for pictures (under Fleming 2005/2006)
That’s all I have for now, post some comments it helps relieve the strike boredom for 30 seconds

Ya so December. . . gotta love it, always busy. People shop for Christmas, visit family and friends, close down residence. . . what? oh right only RLS does that. So my point is it’s been a busy December and thankfully it’s over!!
Christmas was good, new years was even better; we actually got to do what we wanted this year!!!
The new year started off AWESOME and hopefully that trend continues into the future, I’m kinda sick and tired of unawesome futures, I’m sure those of you who know what I’m talking about will understand that comment.
So yeah a new semester is about to begin, it’s my fourth and final semester in Police Foundations. It’s going to be a bitter sweet end that’s for sure. I’ve enjoyed the course from the very beginning and I’m not ready to see the end. On the other hand I received a letter from the O.P.P. the other day confirming the receipt of my application for testing. I’m awaiting test dates now and if all works out I’ll be on my way to the Ontario Police College with in the next year.
I look forward to the future; I do believe it’s going to be a good one, no matter what happens.
Oh one other thing, I think I left something behind, oh right it’s the number 360

So as I’ve quickly found out, each week at Fleming has some common characteristics
Most obvious are weeks 14 and 15. Stress levels jump into over drive, people get very hostile very quickly. The atmosphere is polluted with stress, anger, anxiety, confusion, and all the other joyful emotions accompanied with exam preparation.
I’d lake to take a second and give a few tips to help alleviate exam time emotions.
1) Take time out for you, example watch a movie, go for a walk, listen to tunes, do something to distract you from studying for an hour or two
2) Your friends are still here; spend some time with them, just like you did before the word exam entered your vocabulary.
(Ah the joys of staying up until 8:30am watching random movies
)
3) Exam is just another word for test, you’ve made it through other tests this semester, and so what’s one more?
4) Did I hear someone say THREE WEEK BREAK? Yes that’s right once exams are done you will have three weeks off. In other words have something to look forward to.
That’s just my two cents about exams, please throw your two cents in and comment.
. . Oh one more thing 1+1=4

So the month of drinking is over. October rocked, as you can see from my posts during October I drank quite a bit. Now its time to buckle down, the big projects are starting to come in. Last week we did the crime scene investigation at the Comfort Inn for Interview and Investigation class; I had a blast! It was the shortest most tiring two hours ever but it was an AWESOME experience. Check out the photo gallery for “evidence” pictures taken during the investigation.
Not too much has changed around residence, everyone has found their groups and seem to be sticking with it.
I built a laptop for use in class, BEST idea ever. Note taking during class is so much easier now.
Well that’s all I have to say right now, I’ll post again when something interesting happens or I feel the urge to bitch.

So it’s been an interesting few days. I’ll start with Thursday night; it was Shauna’s 19th B-day so of course we all go out drinking. We pre-drank here at my place and honestly I could of just spent the evening here cuz we were having a good time. We decided to hit Sin City (local night club down town). Around last call time I feel the urge to go to the bathroom yet again due to the amount of fluids I’ve consumed. As I walk out of the bathroom I’m approached by a bouncer who proceeds to kick me out of the bar. I’m still confused as to why. After everyone else leaves we decided to hit Pita Pit. OH MY GOD Pita Pit is SOOO good when you’re drunk! Let’s move on to Friday. Jay decided to drink and gets right smashed; I only had three beers all night but still one heck of a good time! Now Saturday night, Vibe (another club down town) has their Halloween night. So we all pile into a cab and head down after drinking here again. No I didn’t get kicked out this time. We had one hell of a night!! Kyle had his friend Chris down, so we showed him how College really is :P. We again went to pita pit, and when we went looking for a cab to head back to rez ran into two random guys. The one random guys name was Seth or so he told us. He hopped into the cab with us and when he got to the street he wanted (on the way back to rez) he hopped out and took off. The Jerk never paid his $3 for the ride. Ah well like Kristen said its good Karma. When we got back to rez Kyle eventually ended up under Kristen’s coffee table stating “I so just drank you guys under the table, literally”. One heck of a good few nights out, gotta love college life especially college life with good friends to do stupid shit with.

So it’s been an interesting weekend. I haven’t seen any more than 5 hours sleep for the past 48 hours but it’s all good. Set a new First Aid Support Team (F.A.S.T.) record last night we had two calls at once, yes that’s right two at once!
The Crisis Intervention course went well; all I have to say is red bull is my new friend (Thanks Anita!).
Last night, or this morning (5am) depending on how you look at it I was up to mischief while touring with Anita our Security Guard. Yes that’s right I still find time to get up to no good. Ok so it really wasn’t mischief but when you’re running on next to no sleep and all you’ve dealt with all night is people partaking in mischief, you tend to believe your doing it as well (or so I did at the time). Ahhh Rez Life nothing beats it, late nights, early mornings, friends who buy coffee for you late at night (Thanks again Anita!), friends who bring you coffee in the morning(Kristen is my hero!),ok so it was my morning but technically it was the afternoon , and this thing they call class as well. Has anyone actually discovered what this class thing is yet?

So Interpersonal Group Dynamics created an irresistible scenario last week that Kyle just had to express in a drawing. I feel its important to mention that the prof actually made this comment during lecture last week.

So I was not too smart over the past week. I’ve been staying up really late (2 - 3amish) then waking up for 8am lectures. This is all fine and dandy because sleeping in lecture is possible and Kyle (my new hero) brings timmies coffee most mornings. How ever I have discovered today sleeping during the 1.5 mile (2.41km) TEST run is not possible. On top of that the weather today SUCKS! It’s windy as heck and a little chilly, so what did I do? I ran in my usual WINTER gear consisting of running pants (yes the tight ones everyone loves) covered by my basketball pants, then a t-shirt and sweater. Sure standing at the start line I was nice and comfy, 3 min into the run the sweater was off and tied around my waist. Again normal situations the sweater around the waist would be no big deal but when running it restricts breathing.
So I ran the test in 12min 30 seconds A FULL 1 MINUTE OVER MY USUAL TIME!
Soooooo bitter at the moment. Of course coming to the finish the wind is blowing in my face with enough force that I may as well of been walking. I wont go into ranting about the new 1.5 mile track they have us running this year, all I’ll say is I WANT THE 1.5 MILE LOOP BACK!
I’m going to end my rant now and go crawl into bed, curl up and die. Ok so I’m being a little dramatic but it’s allowed.
