For those of you who have been bugging me wanting to know what’s going on with my application with the Ontario Provincial Police I finally have some information for you!
I called uniform recruitment last night and left a message inquiring about the status of the September class and my chances of getting in. I as well decided after receiving some helpful information from a Staff Sgt. I know that I would again inform recruitment that I am indeed willing to take any posting they want to throw at me since I have absolutely nothing holding me to one particular area.
I received a call today from uniform recruitment informing me that the September class is now full so I won’t be getting a call for this intake but “as long as your file stays in good standing things are looking very good for January”.
This is good news! Now I can get a few more Athabasca courses under my belt and let CTC pick up the bill and I’m not in the dark as much as I was before with this hiring process.
Fingers crossed and time to play the waiting game again.
Quick side note for those sending text messages to my cell from my blog. Please if you want me to respond mention who is sending the text, if you don’t tell me who you are I have no way of knowing who sent the message.

TRANSFORMERS
Yesterday (July 2 2007) my new to the internet techie father decided he would check for movie postings online. This on its own is quite impressive, it seems like day by day he’s learning something new about the internet. It feels just like yesterday we we’re trying to teach him where the on button was (ok, ok not funny I know). Any ways back to the point of the story, he found a sneak preview of Transformers playing in Guelph! We decided to check into this posting and call the theatre and low and behold it was indeed the entire movie playing at 8pm and 8:30pm but only a limited number of seats were still available. Me being the techie guru took the reins and ordered 2 tickets for the 8:30pm show and guess what? WE GOT THEM! The movie was awesome, even better the ability to brag about seeing the movie a day earlier then everyone else who has been drooling ever since the trailers started playing on TV. Its for sure worth seeing in theatres and I’ll be going again to see it before its off the big screen.
LOST WALLET
As anyone ever lost their wallet? Well it happened to me the other day. I went hunting for my little foldable leather thingy that holds money, credit cards, and other important things. After two hours of searching the house and car I deemed it missing and started making phone calls to the various credit card companies who had rented space in my wallet, ok so I wish they paid me to store their cards unfortunately I owe them far more then rent would ever cost them. The more phone calls I made the more cards I remembered I had. So far all cards have been candled and new shiny cards are being printed and sent to my home, to be delivered within 2 weeks so I can continue spending money that I don’t have. Seems like the hardest card to replace is going to be my outdoors card (fishing licence) they simply won’t do it, plain and simple I have to go get a temporary sheet of paper printed until my actual card expires at ome point in 2007 only then can I get a new card. What really baffles me about this is the fact I could easily (within 5 min) get a replacement social insurance card. YES you read right, I can get a replacement SIN card in 5 min for $10 but I can’t get a replacement outdoors card isn’t the government awesome? Who would have thought replacing ones wallet and contents would be so expensive Here is a breakdown of the cost:
New driver license $10
New SIN card $10
New boat license $21.15
New Outdoors card (temp paper sheet) $10
New Heath Card $10
New GoodLife membership card $20
New wallet $30
Gas to drive to all these different palces (Georgetown, Guelph, Oakville) $ don’t want to think about it!
Cost of learning to NEVER lose your wallet again PRICELESS (You knew that was coming)
WORK
I’ve been assigned another student security officer at work train. I must admit that I enjoy training, nothing like testing your knowledge of the job like teaching someone else. I find myself reminding myself just a year and a bit ago I was the trainee holy crap how did I learn all of this? Either way all is going well at work, still no word from OPP except to confirm my PREP testing fo July 4 at 12:30pm, yes its been six months since my last physical testing so its retest time, shouldn’t be too horrible, I’ll post tomorrow and let everyone know how it goes.
NEW WEBSITE
So I was really bored the other night, as I’m sure you will realise once you read the domain name of my new site. I decided to put together a site with a ton of flash games to help pass the time while I was bored and hopefully help others who find them selves bored in the future. The new site is

Yes thats right I actually got that domain name, check the site out and let me know what you think. Here is a link to my favourite game so far. I got 375mph try to beat it.

So today was the day of the home visit portion of the OPP hiring process. I must say it went very smoothly! Pretty much just a review of my paper application and a few follow up questions. Looks like I’m moving onto final review now. . . fingers crossed for Sept. OPC.

So it’s been one heck or a roller coaster ride the last few months but I’ve survived!
I’ve now moved into background with the Ontario Provincial Police. This is the final stage in the hiring process before my application is sent off for final review.
I received a call May 25th from the background investigator, she wanted to review a few things and then told me she will be starting the background check May 28.
Besides that not much else is new, still working at Canadian Tire Supply Chain, protecting corporate assets.

So I’ve disappeared from the BOLG world for quite some time. A lot has happened since my last post.
First of all I’m going to be doing some face lifts to this site over the next little while. I think I’ll keep the same design but I’ll be adding some new things so check back often for new updates!
I’ve graduated from Fleming College, yes that’s right I now have a Diploma in Police Foundations. I’ve since moved onto Athabasca University, working on a BPA in Criminal Justice.
I finally passed all the police testing (through OPP not ATS); yes I finally figured out 1+1= 2. So now I’m waiting on an interview (LFI), last update from the OPP recruitment officer I was in the Pre-background stage of the hiring process.
For those who don’t know I’ve been working at Canadian Tire Supply Chain as a Security Officer. I started May 2006 on student contract, I moved to full-time on Feb 15 2007. So far things are great there, I must say it’s an awesome company to work for, employees are well looked after!
Well that’s a coles notes update, I promise to keep this updated from now on!

Ok the photo gallery is back up and rocking!
The server at 151 Front St W Toronto is running awesome, so there shouldn’t be any more hick-ups.
Update as to what’s going on with me. . . I’m currently working at Canadian Tire Corporation in Brampton as a Security Officer. It’s an interesting job; I work at the guard house in the big distribution centers. Not something I want to do the rest of my life, but it’s a good summer job.
My company is finally starting to take off; I have launched a newly developed website (http://www.erics-computers.com) to replace the old not so useful site.
If you or someone you know needs web hosting or computer stuff check it out!
I don’t really have much else to say right now, post a comment and let me know what you think of the new server speeds, photo gallery, and my business site I like getting feedback, good and bad!

Sorry Everyone!!
I know the last month the site has been up and down like mad.
The company that I was leasing a dedicated server from, to put it bluntly SUCKED!
So I decided to make a business purchase and buy a server. So now I have my own server at 151 Front Street Toronto and my Business offers Web Hosting (http://webhosting.erics-computers.com).
Please let me know what you think about my new business, I’m open to suggestions because the customer is always right
I know the photo gallery is down, I’ll be working on it and should have it back up and rocking in a few days.
Thanks again for your patience!!

Well yet again it’s been a while since my last post.
So I’ll start off with an update on my last post about my application to the O.P.P.
I went to the Western Region HQ and did the written testing. Good news first, I passed the Written Compressive Test (WCT). Bad news now, I didn’t quite make the Police Analytical Thinking Inventory (PATI). I messed up on the math section I need to remember that 1 + 1= 4 and next time around I should be good.
Even thought I didn’t make the PATI I still chose to do the physical testing (PREP) even though it wasn’t required since the waiting time to retest for the PATI is the same amount of time the PREP is good for, meaning the PREP will expire the same day I can rewrite the PATI.
The PREP was of course a breeze because I’ve done it so many times before for fitness class. So come six months I will be reapplying for testing and hopefully make it this time.
Now onto current events, OPSEU STRIKE!!!
Yes that’s right my schooling has been put on hold until further notice. Classes are cancelled and nothing is happening academic wise. This presents quite the feat for us residence staff. We now have 500+ students to “baby sit”. Hopefully one of two things happen VERY soon, either the students go home or more preferably the strike ends and we can all go back to normal school days.
Onto happier thoughts SPRING BREAK @ PANAMA CITY BEACH was AWESOME!
What a trip, I must admit the 30 hour bus ride there and home was killer it was well worth the drive!
Pictures are worth a million words so check out my photo gallery for pictures (under Fleming 2005/2006)
That’s all I have for now, post some comments it helps relieve the strike boredom for 30 seconds

MUHAHAHA!!
Yes thats right I upgraded to a new server! The photo gallery has been updated as well, check it out and let me know what you think!
Things have been very busy around here since my last post.
My car is back on the road now YAY! I found an insurnce company that will insure it for $85/month far cry from the $260/month I was paying in Sept.
Lots more has gone on but I dont have the time to post about it right now, stay tuned and I’ll post within the next day or two with a full update.
